I cleaned up my art table this weekend (which was piled up half a foot high with papers and other junk) and found this little sketch from last year. I'm not sure who the model is. It's been a while since I painted this one. Kinda wish I hadn't gone in so heavy-handed with the background and kept it a bit loose. But I still feel it works as is. Opinions?

This was a about a 90 minute pose painted at the PNCA this past Wednesday. I probably painted 60 of the 90 minutes of the pose, taking breaks while my washes were drying to walk around the classroom to help the students.

It's déjà vu time. This was the same pose Adolfo took back in December. Well, just about the same. And I happened to be sitting in the same exact spot as last year. I did move over a bit to get more interesting foreshortening on his right leg. And that to me is the most successful part of the piece. I also like the shame his dreadlocks made.
