Roger, Standing, With Right Leg Raised, Hands Clasped In Front
title: Roger, Standing, With Right Leg Raised, Hands Clasped In Front
size: 11x15 in.
medium: watercolor, pencil
price: $200.00

This piece turned out to be a bad cropping decision on my part. Roger rested his right leg on the back of a chair, placed all his body weight on this left leg and held it for 20 minutes. I've been more focused on drawing hands lately. Unfortunately, he happened to place his in front of his groin. I was well aware of this but didn't give it too much thought. I started at the shoulder, making sure I have enough space for the arm and hands. While so involved in capturing the hands, I was totally oblivious to how they fit in with the rest of the figure.
Usually. after I do a painting I tend to distance myself from it. When the water dries I pack the drawings up and look at them the next day with fresh (and sober) eyes. Unpacking the drawings the next morning, I realized how "pornographic" this painting turned out. I'm sorry if this offends anyone. I'm even more sorry if you didn't see the bad crop until I pointed it out.

Thanks Rich!

You've been doing some solid work yourself. We need to get together for some sort of painting extravaganza.
